FAQ

Quick answers about CryptoKensei.

What is CryptoKensei?
A collectible card game of duels between Ninjas and Samurai, where your cards evolve like RPG heroes across a roguelike run.
Is it free to play?
Yes. The full single-player experience is free — pick a clan, build a deck, and climb the run. No wallet or payment required.
Do I need a crypto wallet?
No. The game is playable with no wallet. The NFT layer is design-only for now; the game comes first.
What are Ki and Resolve?
The two faction economies. Ninja spend Ki, which refreshes every turn but never banks — use it or lose it. Samurai spend Resolve, which accumulates and grows for a decisive blow.
Is it pay-to-win?
No. Progression is anti-P2W by design: the Koban shop sells PvE-only perks, horizontal loadout unlocks and cosmetics — never raw power. Ranked play stays fair.
How do cards evolve?
Units earn XP in battle and while garrisoned. At a threshold they evolve mid-fight down a branching path into a stronger form, keeping any attached gear.
Is there PvP?
The authoritative server, matchmaking and rating are built and tested; online 1v1 goes live once hosting is wired. For now, play the PvE roguelike and daily challenge.
How do I get better?
Try the guided tutorial from Learn to play, read the Guide, and use the deck-builder to refine a focused strategy. Sequence your turn to trigger combos.
