How CryptoKensei's economy is designed — game first, fair always, NFT-ready later.
Design-only — no token and no contracts exist yet. This describes intent, not a live offering.
Vision
CryptoKensei is a collectible card game of duels between Ninjas and Samurai, where cards evolve like RPG heroes. We are building a genuinely fun game first and a Web3 ecosystem second. Every economic decision below is subordinate to that order.
Game first
The full single-player roguelike is free and complete: pick a clan, build a deck, climb the run, evolve your units. No wallet, no purchase, and no token are required to play or to reach the top of the ranked ladder. Ownership is a layer we add on top of a game that already stands on its own.
Two asymmetric economies
Combat is powered by two faction resources. Ninja spend Ki, which refreshes each turn but never banks — pure tempo. Samurai spend Resolve, which accumulates and grows toward a decisive blow. This asymmetry is a core design pillar, tuned by playtesting rather than by monetization.
Koban — the soft currency
Koban is earned by playing. It is spent in the meta-shop on PvE-only perks, horizontal loadout unlocks, and cosmetics. Koban cannot be bought with power and never touches ranked balance. There is no premium currency that converts money into card strength.
Anti-pay-to-win, enforced
No purchase — of Koban, cosmetics, or a future NFT — grants stats, cards, or matchmaking advantage. The separation is enforced in the codebase: the meta/economy package can never be imported by the engine, content, or run logic, and an automated test fails the build if that boundary is crossed.
NFT layer (planned)
Cards map cleanly to the ERC-1155 standard. A metadata generator already produces standards-compliant token metadata from the same card data the game uses — Faction, Rarity, Type, and stat traits — so a future contract or marketplace can consume it directly. Art references are placeholders until assets ship. No contracts are deployed.
Phased and honest
The NFT layer arrives on a testnet first, fed by the game's own content, and only after a security review. We will not ship a token or a mint that outpaces the game's readiness. Timelines and mechanics may change; nothing here is a promise of future value.
